Together with Dan's online friends they formed the Bakugan Battle Brawlers. (Dan's group consists of the good guys and gals). He aspires to be the No. 1 brawler in the world, loves playing the game but is easily frustrated. Shun, formerly ranked 1st and eventually went down to 6th, is Dan's childhood friend. He's a loner of very few words; and, mostly, willing to help his friends. Here's a little insight into the characters of Dan's online friends (the baddies come and go so we won't describe them):
- Runo, the tomboy, loves playing the game in order to show off. She has a crush on Dan.
- Marucho, the rich kid, generous and intelligent, likes to work on strategies.
- Julie, the Pollyanna of the group, tries to stay happy no matter what, masking her real feelings and giving her the reputation of being a little scatterbrained at times.
- Alice, a girl from Moscow, knows almost everything about the game, but only occasionally plays, preferring to give advice – another strategizer, you could say.
The Bakugan battle brawl is on
By accident they unleash the power of the Drago card; Dan is drawn into an alternate dimension causing a break in the balance of both worlds. There, Dan's group takes on Masquerade, Hal-G, and the Bakugan Naga (the bad brawlers) for the fate of Vestroia (the Bakugan's alternate home dimension). They do this with the help of the dragonoid, Drago, who is Dan's guardian. And so the battle is on - good Bakugan battle brawlers vs. the evil ones.
When Vestroia loses its natural balance and merges with the human world creatures emerge from the marble-like spheres that are connected with the cards. This adventure series includes conflicting forces traveling to other dimensions through portals seeking the glory of power and trying to overcome negative energy. All of this is accomplished with the cards and spheres.
Good Bakugan battle brawlers bring back balance
As the series develops, more is revealed about Vestroia and the Bakugan. Ultimately, Dan and his friends bring back balance by destroying the evil side, including Naga. The Silent Core goes into Drago after a valiant battle. Dan and all Bakugan must return to Vestroia. A few months later, while on a date with Runo (you knew Runo's crush had to turn romantic sometime), Dan sees an image in the sky of Drago saying, "I'll never forget you, my friend."
