Lego Figures sent to Deep Space
NASA has teamed up with Lego to
send three Lego Minifigs to Jupiter as a way to promote children’s education & STEM programs (science, technology, engineering, & math) on an Atlas V rocket on 8-5-11... The brick company underwrote the project... each of the minifigs machined from aluminum are the normal size for Lego minifigures and customized to represent his or her special characteristics: Jupiter carries a lightning bolt, Juno has a magnifying glass to represent her search for truth, Galileo is carrying a telescope and a model of the planet Jupiter... The minifigs attached to the space probe are the same size as the plastic figures in your box of Lego at home... track these fastest moving toys in the universe at LegoSpace.com. 8/5/11
Wall-E Robot Made With LEGO Mindstorms
Montreal-based maker Marc-André Bazergui has created a real-life
Wall-E robot using a set of motors and a LEGO Mindstorms NXT kit... The 20cm tall Wall-E uses 5 RCX motors and 3 Levers to move and transform just like the animated character, and it took Bazergui over 250 hours to build... Even more impressive, is that Wall-E can be remotely controlled to move around, pick up objects and look up and down. Alternatively, he can be programmed to move on his own accord

Today we're all one step closer to waste-powered cars. A pair of Spanish engineers has recently unveiled an
R/C car that runs on aluminum. Dropping a few soda can tabs into a tank of sodium hydroxide produces enough hydrogen to power the little speedster for 40 minutes – at almost 20mph. See the
video to see it in action.
