The Blue Bird of Happiness
Posted On 2009-04-18 , 10:25 AM
Dear Diary,
It doesn't take much to make me happy ... just a cute little blue bird. When I commissioned a new anime header for the Buzz Shoppe, I casually mentioned that I'd love to have a bird in there somewhere. I was told, "No bird!" I replied, "Yes, bird."
This went back and forth for a couple of days and all the time when they were saying, No bird! I was thinking what could be so difficult about putting a little birdie in a header somewhere ... put it in a tree, on a store awning, anywhere, just give me a cute little birdie, please.
Well, yesterday I got the little blue bird - in a splendid anime header! And I couldn't be happier. There was the bird, front and center, proudly perched on the letter G of BUZZING KIDS WORLD - with an eye fixed on something in a shoppe window perhaps ... possibly another bird in a pet store?
Here are the header and footer in reduced sizes. They're even better in full view. Thanks, guys, for giving me what I asked for - a cute little blue bird - plus the anime shoppers, the store fronts with awnings, the flowers, the butterflies, and the scrollies/swirlies. Love the colors, too. Great job. ^.^

| | 1. | Thanks, Anika. I love everything about that header and footer. And you're hoping I don't mind that you put a search box in your store?! You must be a kidder, too, like someone else we both know. Did you notice who I patterned my store format after? When you see the best, imitate it, I say, if you can't come up with anything to top it. (Sounds better than copying.) ^.^
I just came back from an annual meet and greet function at our complex and everyone wanted an update on my website. Trouble is, most of them don't have computers - this is a senior complex; however, I just completed a newsletter that I do here periodically and I'm referencing the site address in it so they can tell their grandchildren about it.
I'm going to make business cards for the site using my logo and Avery's format. (I've done it before for my cleaning ladies and their catering business. They're from Brazil, so I named them the Saucy Ladies. They love it. They'll even teach some Samba dance steps at the parties, if requested.) BTW, wouldn't site business cards be a good suggestion for other site owners in the webinars? Can't wait to see the busines card that you come up with. Promise I won't copy it though.
And earlier today I received a call from a 1st cousin I've never met - knew her parents though. We were bemoaning the fact that families are spread far and wide these days. She was delighted to hear that Buzzing Kids World promotes family bonding. She wanted to know more about the site and wrote down the name. I know she'll get the word out to that side of the family and all the grandkids and their parents.
Thanks again for your comments and the one in the chat box, too. ^.~

| | 2. | The header looks great in your store! Very cute....and thanks for unintentionally giving me the idea to put a search box at the top of my store. I hope you don't mind that I copied you. Though they say that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." ^.^
Love your site.
