Resolutions are on our mind and we're wondering what parents resolved to do or stop doing during the new year? So parents, was it to mind your manners? Go on a diet? Visit a shut-in more often.? It really doesn't have to be a big deal; it's so simple. Kids help keep things in perspective. As grown-ups, we could take a lesson or two from them. Here's how kids mind their manners:
Manners
We say, "Thank you."
We say, "Please."
We don't interrupt or tease.
We don't argue. We don't fuss.
We listen when folks talk to us.
We share our toys and take our turn.
Good manners aren't too hard to learn.
It's really easy, when you find.
Good manners means
JUST BEING KIND!

Beauty
Or maybe you resolved to go on a diet – to keep, or make, yourself beautiful again. If only that was as simple as minding your manners. Here are some kids' perspectives on beauty:
"If you want to be loved by somebody who isn't already in your family, it doesn't hurt to be beautiful." -- Anita, age 8
"Beauty is skin deep. But how rich you are can last a long time." -- Christine, age 9
"It isn't always how you look. Look at me. I'm handsome like anything, and I haven't got anybody to marry me yet." -- Brian, age 7
So hang in there everybody – and get your beauty sleep!
Dream like you'll live forever and live like there's no tomorrow.

About your comment on my blog entry: There was a kiss...and trust me, it was a very nice kiss! BUT...I avoid drawing kisses. I will have to try someday, but they are annoyingly difficult. Faces are all squashed and pressed together and, as enjoyable as an actual kiss is, drawing it you have to get it perfect or it looks really awkward and awful.
^.^; I am ashamed, I shall try and get over my fear of artistic kisses soon!

P.S. ^.^; is an anime smiley and sweat-drop. Generally an emoticon associated with guilt, as it is here. ^.^;
Adorable entry. I particularly like young Brian's thoughts on beauty. LOL.
I wish I had a New Year's resolution to share with you, but I stopped making them a long time ago (I always manage to break them). I do, however, have a quote for you that seems to fit this entry rather well. Consider it a wish for everyone in the upcoming new year:
"Dream like you'll live forever. Live like you'll die today."
I don't know who first said it, but this has been my favorite quote for years and I feel it good advice.
