Buzz Me Or Tweet Me?

Dear Diary:
 Decisions, decisions!
Having been brought up in the dark ages, what's a granny to do when she's caught up in the new age and fast track of digital, html code, and resolutions? (That's a reference to screen resolutions, not New Year's resolutions – they were left by the wayside long ago). And now the hottest thing to do is join in the mix and tweet on Twitter as a way of getting known in the wide world web of the internet.
So a decision has been make, sort of. I'll do both. You can buzz me via my new email address: where you can praise, laud, congratulate, make suggestions about Buzzing Kids World, or give constructive critism. ^.^ (That's an anime smiley.)
You can, also, tweet (or follow) us by clicking on the Follow Me buttons made by Artist Anika of Crafty Art World. The button in the right menu will take you to KidsBuzz' Twitter page and the one in the left menu to KidsGranny's Twitter page. Watch for more info about tweeting in a future blog entry. This takes a bit of planning and I don't want to rush into anything. ^.^

The Blue Bird of Happiness

Dear Diary,
 It doesn't take much to make me happy ... just a cute little blue bird. When I commissioned a new header for the Buzz Shoppe, I casually mentioned that I'd love to have a bird in there somewhere. I was told, "No bird!" I replied, "Yes, bird."
This went back and forth for a couple of days and all the time when they were saying, No bird! I was thinking what could be so difficult about putting a little birdie in a header somewhere ... put it in a tree, on a store awning, anywhere, just give me a cute little birdie, please.
Well, yesterday I got the little blue bird - in a splendid header! And I couldn't be happier. There was the bird, front and center, proudly perched on the letter G of BUZZING KIDS WORLD - with an eye fixed on something in a shoppe window perhaps ... possibly another bird in a pet store?
Here are the header and footer in reduced sizes. They're even better in full view. Thanks, guys, for giving me what I asked for - a cute little blue bird - plus the shoppers, the store fronts with awnings, the flowers, the butterflies, and the scrollies/swirlies. Love the colors, too. Great job. ^.^

New Anime Sports Header

Dear Diary,
Here's an update. We have put up a new anime header for our sports and outdoor activities pages. If it looks familiar to you, it's because we liked the "Kids Having Fun and Staying Fit" banner so much that we had it resized to fit as a header and changed the text to include our website name: Buzzing Kids World. And we reduced the font size of the website name in the footer to allow more room for page titles.

The font style, colors, and background remain the same in order to maintain consistency. We hope you like the new addition as much as we do.

From Blog to Buzz Blog

Dear Diary,
 We are attempting to revamp our Blog and rename it Buzz Blog. So if you see some funny things happening with the menu and screen as these changes occur here in a buzzing kids world, please bear with us. It's a bit complicated and we don't want to leave you out there in wonderland wondering what in the world are they up to this time. We hope you'll give it a thumbs up. In the meantime, watch for new categories and entries that may interest you.

Anime Halloween Banner

Dear Diary,
It's December 17, 2008 - eight days before Christmas and here we are talking about a Halloween banner. We wrote about it in our last entry. The banner is called Get Into The Spirit. We didn't get into the spirt in time for Halloween, but have managed to do a reciprocal link with The Pumpkin Wizard, a year-round site on pumpkin carving. Although we, admittedly, are not artists we commissioned this banner with the intent of linking it to our October BuzzLetter which we have now done. We hope you like it.
Our plan is to do an anime banner each month, such as the Get into the spirit banner, to compliment the monthly-themed BuzzLetter for Halloween. Since the banner is non-specific, we are trying to think of other ways to use the banner during the rest of the year. For example, the topic would be suitable for Independence Day; however, the colors are not appropriate. Perhaps, going back to school in the Fall? - the colors are right. How about when the Olympics come around again? If you think of a way, Dear Diary or visitor, do let us know.

Anime Themes

Dear Diary,
 Today is December 5, 2008. It's a good day for starting a little chat with you and letting you know what we're thinking now and then and updating you with our website. Let's call this diary entry: Anime Themes.
A month ago we received the new header and banners with Anime themes for our website Buzzing Kids World. It is a collage of characters with Anime themes. We love them. They are fresh, colorful and happy. They are infectious - the good kind. At last, the site has a theme that looks like it's about the subject of its title - kids. This banner will take you to an article on making-over kids/teens bedrooms.
Along with the Anime-themed header we got three of what we call generic banners and three seasonal ones using the Anime themes (there are always holidays just around the corner, you know). And we got our own Anime world logo (see above right) to fit in with the Anime themes - in three different sizes!!! We hadn't even asked for that! One size would have been fine. To say we are thrilled is an understatement. We're also thrilled about this banner that we used as a Thanksgiving theme taking you to the November BuzzLetter.
The artist who put the Anime themes together for us writes that his family is a big fan of Anime, too. Their two daughters fit the demographics of our website and judged Dad's artistic work as he went along. They're as happy with the results as we are. We especially value their approval. Their two cats are named Haku and Kiki after Anime characters. How cool is that! And how could we forget the environment and ways to go green!
We have been working on the site every day for the past month tweaking the text here and there, replacing old images with new Anime themes, adjusting to the wider Anime header, concentrating on appearance and making it more convenient to the visitor. ^.^ (That is an Anime smiley.) We are particularly pleased with the way the Game Room and Relay Race Ideas pages turned out using Anime themes for images. Below is our banner for the Staying Fit Through Fun Activities article or a kids way of kicking butt, if you will.
The journey continues at Buzzing Kids World
 This is the fun part of building a website. It's the technical part and terminology that flummoxes some of us more than we care to admit. Nonetheless, progress is being made with our Anime themes and we continue to handle one challenge at a time. We aren't quite sure where this path will lead or what turns we may take along the way, but we're staying on track for now. We hope you'll come along with us on this journey using Anime themes. Keep an eye on the menu for new topics. And to see our December '08 BuzzLetter, click on the Happy Holidays banner.
So there you have it - all but the Halloween banner which we'll explain in the next Dear Diary entry.
