We are attempting to revamp our Blog and rename it Buzz Blog. So if you see some funny things happening with the menu and screen as these changes occur here in a buzzing kids world, please bear with us. It's a bit complicated and we don't want to leave you out there in wonderland wondering what in the world are they up to this time. We hope you'll give it a thumbs up. In the meantime, watch for new categories and entries that may interest you.

Halloween Banner

Dear Diary,

It's December 17, 2008 - eight days before Christmas and here we are talking about a Halloween banner. We wrote about it in our last entry. The banner is called Get Into The Spirit. We didn't get into the spirt in time for Halloween, but have managed to do a reciprocal link with The Pumpkin Wizard, a year-round site on pumpkin carving. Although we, admittedly, are not artists we commissioned this banner in order to link it to our October BuzzLetter. We hope you like it.

Our plan is to do an anime banner each month, such as the Get Into The Spirit banner, to compliment our monthly-themed BuzzLetter for Halloween. The banner is sort of specific to Halloween, but we are trying to think of other ways to use the banner during the rest of the year. For example, the title would be suitable for Independence Day; however, the colors are not appropriate. Perhaps, going back to school in the Fall? - the colors are right. How about when the Olympics come around again? Of course we'll have to change the mummy costume on the right for some of this recycling. ^.^ If you think of a way, Dear Diary or visitor, do let us know.

Headers and Banners

Dear Diary,

Today is December 5, 2008. It's a good day for starting a little chat with you and letting you know what we're thinking and updating you with our website. Let's call this diary entry: Headers and Banners under our Site Theme category.

A month ago we received a new header and banners with anime images for our website Buzzing Kids World. It is a collage of anime characters. We love them. And although BKW isn't limited to anime content, the images are fresh, colorful, happy and make a great match for our site's content. The images are infectious - the good kind. At last, the site has a theme that matches the title - a Buzzing Kids World. The banner below will take you to an article on making-over kids/teens bedrooms. [Notice how perfect the images are for the content of all the banners.]

Along with the anime-themed header we got three of what we call generic banners and three seasonal ones using the anime images (there are always holidays just around the corner, you know). And we got our own world logo (see the left image in our page's title banners) to fit in with the site theme - in three different sizes!!! We hadn't even asked for that! One size would have been fine. To say we are thrilled is an understatement. We're also thrilled about this banner that we used as a Thanksgiving theme taking you to relevant pages on the site at the appropriate time.

The artist who put the images together for us writes that his family is a big fan of anime, too. Their two daughters fit the demographics of our website and judged Dad's artistic work as he went along. They're as happy with the results as we are. We especially value their approval. Their two cats are named Haku and Kiki after anime characters. How cool is that! And how could we forget the environment and ways to go green!

We have been working on the site every day for the past month tweaking the text here and there, replacing old images with the new anime images, adjusting to the new wider site header, concentrating on appearance and making it more convenient to the visitor. ^.^ (That is an anime smiley.) We are particularly pleased with the way the Game Room and Relay Race Ideas pages turned out using the new images. Below is our banner for the Staying Fit Through Fun Activities article or a kids way of kicking butt, if you will.

The journey continues at Buzzing Kids World

This is the fun part of building a website. It's the technical part and terminology that flummoxes some of us more than we care to admit. Nonetheless, progress is being made with our site theme and we continue to handle one challenge at a time. We aren't quite sure where this path will lead or what turns we may take along the way, but we're staying on track for now. We hope you'll come along with us on this journey using anime images. Keep an eye on the menu for new topics.
