What is so great about anime cartoons?
Two words: Fun and fantasy! Most moms and dads are familiar with anime cartoons (pronounced ana-may) through their own kids watching Saturday morning TV shows like Pokemon. The Japanese created this form of entertainment, commonly known as anime cartoons. You'll also find it in all forms such as the items listed in the table above.

Basics 101
Without explaining too much about how it started, anime cartoons spread like wild flowers in Japan in the early 20th Century and then in English-speaking countries in the mid-'90s. It can be broken down into these basic categories:
Anime Superstor
  • Action - let's just say fighting and adventure
  • Drama - growing up and mushy romance
  • Science Fiction - all things futuristic
  • Horror - more like spooky, scary stuff
  • Games - trading cards and board games

Uh oh, why did they have to use words that were so hard to remember... and spell, such as:
  • Shojo for young girls
  • Shonen for young boys
  • Kodomo for children of both genders
  • Josei for women
  • Seinen for men

Kid-friendly anime images

First, let's  talk about the anime we use in our headers, banners, and images. We call them kid-style, kid-safe or kid-friendly... in other words suitable for all ages of kids. We do not and will not include any unsafe anime in this website. If you see any, let us know; we'll take it out faster than a Bakugan Battle Brawler can say ACTIVATE!.

Next, we have divided the anime cartoons, or articles if you will, into three categories:

Categories  Age Content
Animation for preteens  12 and under

Just the right amount of action and adventure without being overly intense while still being enjoyable; some comedy and a little bit of scary or ghostly.

Animation for teens  13 and above

A bit more action, adventure, even some romance, minor language and character death, but nothing your teens won’t be able to handle.

Animation for older teens 16 and above

More intense in action, language, and romance. Nothing TOO major, mind you, more bordering on heavy PG-13.

Make it an enjoyable experience and see our

Finally, you'll find our articles under one of these categories in the right menu. Lately, we've been on a fast track to include more anime cartoons. If you're a fan of one genre and don't see it here yet, let us know. We'll see what we can do to accommodate your interests - only  safe-anime, please - this is a "kids" site, you know. We do call all children under 18 "kids" though. ^.^

Sharing the moment with anime cartoons

So there it is... anime cartoons in a buzzing kids world. Use the category charts as a guide when choosing programs, movies, or purchasing anime products. And kids, these would be great pages to share with your grandparents. (Shhh! What kid can't twist a grandparent around their little finger when it comes to toys and presents, including anime cartoons! They can in this household.) ^.^
