Piracy Boosts Anime Sales, Says Japanese Government Study
'A prestigious economics think-tank of the Japanese government has published a study which concludes that online piracy of anime shows actually increases sales of DVDs. The conclusion stands in sharp contrast with the entertainment industry's claims that "illicit" downloading is leading to billions of dollars in losses worldwide. It also puts the increased anti-piracy efforts of the anime industry in doubt.'
TV Show
ThunderCats to be revived. Warner Bros. Animation announced in June 2010 that it has teamed up with Cartoon Network for a revival of the much-loved 1980s animated series ThunderCats. The updated cartoon “will sport a heavy anime look, thanks to Warner Bros. Animation’s collaboration with Japan’s Studio4°C”... No word on an official premiere date, but the show is expected to begin airing sometime in 2011. slashdot

Basic Con Survival Guide:
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
- Bring a bag and/or backpack.
- Bring water and snacks.
- Check out the area before going.
- Bring something to do while in line.

Parents Taking Kids:
- If 0-5 years - don't take them.
- 6-7 years - good age to start taking them.
- 8-12 years - take portable video games:
- Nintendo Gameboy Color and/or Advanced Used Nintendo DS for IMing with PictoChat, MP3 player, iPhone/iPod Touch, Blackberry

Kids Going Alone (13+)
- If it's their first con, only go for a day.
- Have older friend or sibling go along.
- Arrange a specific meeting place before going.
- Make sure they have a way to contact you.
- Go with your child up to registration.
- If you go, too, let them take the lead.
- Don't be afraid to let your child attend.
