Gifts for Teacher

Posted On 2012-12-15 , 11:40 AM

Dear Diary,

Christmas is the perfect time to earn some points with the teachers - well, you never know, a B+ is better than a B- or a B, wouldn't you agree? So here are some suggestions - easy and light on the budget...

Holiday gifts teachers like:
Food gifts and Christmas tree ornaments are some of the most frequently mentioned gifts teachers say they like. An ornament with the child's name on it will remind the teacher of that child in years to come.

Other gifts teachers favor:

  • Gift certificates for book stores or restaurants
  • Albums filled with classroom photos
  • Picture frames
  • Note cards
  • Stationery
  • Paper cubes
  • Sticky notes
  • Art supplies
  • Special pens
  • Tote bags
What counts is the thought involved, teachers say. Some fondly remembered gifts: M&Ms, two walnuts, a peacock feather, and cookies. ^.^  NOTE:  Check out some of the holiday cookies and treats on our Pinterest Board Christmas Goodies!

Thank you note sample.   Thank you note sample.   Thank you note sample

Sure! Above are a few samples and you’ll find more in this older post.

And remember, you’re never too old to send a thank you note for a gift received. ^.^

Menu Change

New Bulletin Buzz Format

Dear Diary:

cute anime girl with big brown eye winkingThis has to do with our website which we usually blog about under the category of Anime Themes regarding headers, banners, applications, etc. And as you know we use kid-safe anime images to add to the fun.

With that in mind, we have taken a new approach to our Bulletin Buzz page by breaking it down into sub-pages. The main page focuses on Kids in the News. The sub-pages (which you can see listed at the bottom of each page) include:
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Education
  • Entertainemnt
  • Family
  • Games &Toys
  • Gizmos
  • Safety and Security

In addition, each page will contain an archive for favorite items that have been nudged aside for the latest buzz, but too interesting to delete, so to speak. But not to worry, you'll still see kid-friendly anime images on every page, including the new Title Bars.

So check them out when you get a chance - the new - and the old and interesting.  If we're missing something you'd like to see on our website, let us know. As always, fresh ideas are always welcomed and appreciated.

Getting Puppy-Power

Posted On 2010-07-16 , 3:36 PM

Dear Diary,

anime boy and girl with cute puppyWe just came across a short and sweet article about teaching kids how to play the compliment game with puppy-power... a winning combination, wouldn't you say?

Puppy-power is a fun way of learning the social-emotional skills that all kids need as they grow into adulthood. See how it helps kids join and relate with others.

WHAT!!!

Posted On 2010-06-06 , 4:00 PM

Dear Diary:

''Let's eat Grandma!'' or, ''Let's eat, Grandma!''
Punctuation saves lives. Use it. Save a life.

WHAT!!!  Can you imagine the mixed feelings I felt when I first saw that quote on an anime forum website (not that the quote had anything to do with anime)?  Don't they know I'm a big fan of kid-style anime and doing what I can to bridge the generation gap?  Well, that first sentence caught my attention!  Then I read the rest of it… sheer amusement!

Twenty-Odd Ducks book on punctuation
I was so amused that I've decided to do a webpage on Funny Punctuation and discovered that there are some really fun ways to learn grammar. We just didn't have that back when I was a kid. Kids are so lucky these days!  WHAT! You don't believe me… even parents will have fun helping you with this homework.

Check it out; you'll see! Check out our other fun ways to learn in a buzzing kids world while you're at it, too. ^.^  ~ KidsGranny
