Try as we may, we have been unable to find a specific reference to the Samurai warrior's headdress that is usually depicted as the Origami Samurai Hat (see green hat). The child's costume shown on the left is the closest we've come to it. We can only assume the original helmet is round to fit the head and the "wings" are the decorative element seen on the costume and on many real Japanese helmets.
In any case, the Samurai hat is a fun
Origami paper folding instruction that could be used as a party activity. When finished it could be given as

a party favor to the guests to take home as a memento of the occasion for their
scrapbooks. You can use
two-tone papers or try the more ornate
Washi papers. Samurai hats would make fun and exciting helmets any warrior would be delighted to wear in a buzzing kids world. (See video below.)
