Face Painting for Kids

Let the kids paint your face, too!

Face painting for kids is fun to do and fun to watch

anime face painting for kids in a buzzing kids worldFace painting is a great activity for birthday parties. It can even be planned as a competitive event where the excitement of the activity  increases from start to finish.  As the kids apply the make-up and see what fun it is to change the appearance of their friends they get very involved in the process.

It is such fun to watch the expressions on their faces as the new faces evolve.
See the How To video below and see if you can stop watching before the transformation is finished.  We don't think so!  So plan a party event with face painting for kids as a competition or fun activity. But, set the rules – do they paint faces in turns or at the same time?  Both can be fun to watch.  Have plenty of film on hand for your camera.  You will want these pictures for your scrapbook, for sure.

Here are a couple ways of face painting for kids:

1. If there are enough kids to make up two teams:

  • fill up two pocketbooks or containers with face painting for kids make-up
  • the first two members of the team begin painting the faces of their partner
  • when through they pass it on to the next partners until everyone's face is painted
  • even the boys can be made-up as a pirate, clown, etc.
  • the first team to finish wins

2.  If there aren't enough kids to make up two teams:

  • the group paints each other's face
  • decide ahead of time who will do the judging - the kids or the parents and the time limit
  • judge the results by the criteria you set ahead of time, too; such as:
    • the best
    • the most original
    • and the funniest examples of face painting for kids
Concerned about sharing make-up? Get an inexpensive make-up kit for each participant. (Hover the mouse over the product above left to see details.) They can take the kit home that was used on them as a party favor.  This is exciting and fun for the kids.  They love dressing-up and making-up.  Have plenty of paper (lobster) bibs, Kleenex and paper towels handy.

Face painting for kids of all ages is such fun in a buzzing kids world.
