Open Question: I'm an up and coming artist. Where around town could I preform? (Wed, 10 Mar 2010 00:39:33 GMT)

I'm well known around my town, I sing, play guitar, and I'm learning how to play piano. Ever since 5th grade I've wanted to preform in front of a crowd and headline my own tour. I know that I have the abilities to get a record deal, but I just need to get known for my musical talents. So, now that you know a little bit about my passion, I have NO idea where I could preform for a crowd. I know that I could preform at coffee shops, retirement homes, and at my school talent show, but I want something bigger. I'm not talking about like opening up for Boys Like Girls, but like holding a mini-concert of a few of my original songs and some covers. Any help would be greatly appreciated! -Robert

For example, "I hate Lil Wayne, he'll say one line then laugh", or "I hate Lil Wayne, because his lyrics make no sense", or "I hate Gucci Mane, because his name sounds wack", or "I hate Jay-Z, because he looks like a camel"? Etc., etc., etc. I seriously don't understand haters. First, most just say they hate insert rapper to make it seem like they have good taste or that they're a non-conformist or something. Second, why always bring up the rapper, or anything in general, that you hate? Why do you feel the need to mention it so much? Third, the majority of the time their reasons why they hate a rapper comes off as unknowledgeable.

So i want to play bass for pep rally right? But theres this other kid who is playing bass....but he is horrible! I'm talking he can't hit a drum for his life. You could give him: 1 2e and a 3 and 4, and he couldnt play it. The drumline captain took me into a side room and said i could play single tenor or cymbals. But i really wan to play bass. I'm not mean so i dont want to tell the captain: Take that kid off bass and put me. It would be hard to watch somebody go to somebody else and say you cant play it get off the line. Should i talk to the band instructor, the captain and tell them i can do it better, get to class early and steal the bass, or play single tenor?

The song starts by moving the pitch up and then down right in the intro. All i can describe is that it says "what's that?" in a slightly loud voice four times. The fourth time, it's followed by a robotic voice that's flat. Might be by Beck or Fatboy Slim.

So I have this low, deep voice, and whenever I try to sing anything remotely high I feel crazy strain. My voice will also develop extra rasp. My friend took voice lessons and she says that her teacher told her that 'all girls can sing high notes if trained.' Is that true? Are there girls who dont even have the potential to sing high-ish? Or is this just lack of technique? BTW: I dont fail at singing or anything. I supposedly have a really nice, unique voice and I'm always on tune and stuff. I just dont have any range... it sucks soooo hard. THANKSSSSSS GUYS~ appreciate it <3
