The Nightmare Before Christmas: Now digitally restored and remastered with state-of-the-art technology, The Collector's Edition is deeper, darker and more brilliant than ever -- just as Tim Burton originally envisioned it --  Bored with the same old scare-and-scream routine, Pumpkin King Jack Skellington longs to spread the joy of Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for good little boys and girls everywhere!  -- now even more eerie and extraordinary on Blu-ray(TM) High Definition!
Monster House: Even for a 12-year old, D.J. Walters has a particularly overactive imagination. He is convinced that his haggard and crabby neighbor Horace Nebbercracker, who terrorizes all the neighborhood kids, is responsible for Mrs. Nebbercracker's mysterious disappearance. Any toy that touches Nebbercracker's property, promptly disappears, swallowed up by the cavernous house in which Horace lives. D.J. has seen it with his own eyes! But no one believes him, not even his best friend, Chowder... and it's about to get much worse than anything D.J could have imagined. HD3D - Monster House
Corpse Bride: Another stop-motion film from Tim Burton about a very unusual romance. Young Victor, nervous about his upcoming wedding, tries practicing his vows but ends up “married” to Emily, the Corpse Bride. But while trying to find a way to free himself and return to his true fiancé, Victoria, Victor finds himself torn between the bland world of the living and the more lively and colorful world of the dead. Despite the creepy title, it’s still a fun and touching story with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter providing voices.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: A 1949 animated short from Disney, narrated by Bing Crosby, based on Washington Irving’s classic short story, about timid schoolteacher Ichabod Crane and his encounter with the ghostly Headless Horseman. Originally part of “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad” with an adaptation of “The Wind and the Willows”… it is also available separately, a great ghost story that’s also a great way to introduce kids to classic literature.
Little Monsters: Brian (Fred Savage) discovers the existence of monsters that enter our world from under beds and get kids into trouble. He befriends one, Maurice (Howie Mandel), who introduces Brian to a fun world with no rules but soon reveals itself to be more than it is. This is a fun movie with some interesting ideas about monsters and the “rules” about them, like lights and living under the bed as he he struggles with the prospect of losing the only real friend he's ever known.

Coraline: Coraline Jones, feeling neglected by her parents, discovers a hidden parallel world where she gets the love and attention she wants. But she soon learns her “Other Mother” is not who she appears to be. Coraline must defeat her deceptive “other-mother” using her clever intellect and her newfound eclectic community. A particularly effective color score helps differentiate between Coraline’s real and parallel worlds. Filled with creepy moments while providing the lesson of being careful what you wish for.
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit / Chicken Run (Double Feature): An adventurous double feature begins with Wallace and his loyal canine Gromit trying to catch the huge fluffy beast who's running havoc on the town's sacred vegetable plots in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Follow that with Chicken Run in which Rocky the Rooster and Ginger the Chicken try to escape from the evil Mr. Tweedy's chicken farm. Animated. 2 DVDs. Color/G/widescreen.
Scooby-Doo Movies for Halloween: Scooby-Doo and his mystery solving friends appear in numerous films where they run into actual monsters, not just people dressed up like them. There are quite a few to list, so we did a separate page for some of the better ones. Scooby and Shaggy

See if these movies don’t satisfy the scary-movie tradition for Halloween at your home.
