HowTo create the Personal Features

Creating Superheroes/Villains: Their Names
Be as original as possible with names, using something that hasn’t been used before. Superhero/villain names are:
- Catchy - so people can remember them easily
- Usually fit with the character’s powers
- Relate to the general theme
If you use a name similar to a previously used name, try and make the character as different as possible so it doesn’t look like you’re just copying. Copying someone else's original work can lead to all kinds of legal problems... and no one wants that in any universe, whether a superhero world or the real world.
Protecting their identity: Secret Identity
 |
|
Superheroes usually:
- Keep their real names secret to protect themselves and those they care about safe from their enemies
- Try to act differently in their civilian identities than their costumed ones
Villains’ identities are usually:
- Public knowledge after they’ve been arrested
- 0r known to the readers but not to the public of your universe

What are their stats? Their Personal Data?
Think of your characters’ stats:
- Height
- Weight
- Hair
- Eye color
|
- Occupations
- Where they live
- What family they have
|
You don’t have to reveal everything right off the bat, especially if you have villains or other characters you want to have remain a mystery for a time. This can also be helpful in how you write characters and if you want to create a data-book for your universe at some point.

Dressing the characters: Costumes
  |
|
Heroes and villains typically wear unique outfits that make them recognizable to the public. They’re usually:
- Colorful
- Skintight suits with masks
- Have elements of their name and theme
You'll be able to find more details about crafting costumes in a separate article.
